Butterflies and moths (a butterfly) are insects belonging to the order Lepidoptera, or 'winged insects scales' (lepis, scales and pteron, wings).

Simply put, the butterflies are distinguished from moths aka strumpet active time-based and physical characteristics. The butterfly is generally active in the daytime (diurnal), whereas gengat most active at night (nocturnal). Butterfly resting or settled by enforcing its wings, moth perched with its wings spread. The butterfly usually has a bright beautiful colors, moths tend to be dark, dull or gray. However, these differences there are always exception, so that scientifically can not hold certain. Habits and Food

Many people who loved butterflies beautiful, but otherwise very few people who do not feel disgust at the caterpillar; when they are the same creature. Butterflies generally live by sucking nectar (nectar / flower essence). However, like some kind of sucked liquid from the fruit that fell on the ground and rot, carrion, bird droppings, and wet soil.

Unlike the butterflies, worms live primarily by eating leaves. These caterpillars are voracious, but generally each type of specialized caterpillars eat the leaves of the species-specific plant species only. So the presence of a species of butterfly in one place, is also determined by the availability of the host plants of ulatnya.
Butterfly and Human

Butterflies and moths is known as an animal pollinators, which help the flowers develop into fruit. So for farmers, and people in general, butterflies are very useful.

On the other hand, a variety of caterpillars known as a voracious pest. Not only plants that dimangsanya annuals, but also fruit trees and trees in general may be discharged by the worm leaves shaved in a relatively short time.
